Leisure Centre Swimming Pool Cover Replacement
Design and Installation of 2 Commercial Pool Covers
Removing old, inefficient commercial pool covers and replacing with a brand new commercial reel system and covers for two commercial swimming pools for Longwel Green Leisure Centre, Bristol.
The Brief
Longwel Green is one of four leisure centres that Pool Cover Systems maintain for our client Circadian Trust. We were asked to assist with two pools, a large commercial pool 13.5m x 25m and a smaller pool 13.5m x 25m. The existing pool covers on these pools were inefficient and in poor condition and had not been used for some time.
The reel for the Teaching Pool cover was in the wrong position leading to additional complications in using the pool cover.
Because neither pool cover was being used, both pools were costing the leisure centre way more in running costs than necessary. Both commercial pool covers needed to be replaced, and a solution found for the incorrectly-placed reel.
What We Did
We removed the old pool covers and replaced them with new covers on both pools. We also removed the wrongly-placed reel for the Teaching Pool cover and replaced it with a new high level reel system of our own design and build.
How We Did It
Both commercial reel systems use our UNICUM motors and controls, providing programmable open and closed positions. These include outputs to control the BMS for air water heating and dehumidification. A soft start/stop on pre-programmed open and close positions gives even more control to pool operators.
