Repair to a Slatted Reel Cover on a Glass-Sided Pool
We were called to inspect and repair a slatted cover on a penthouse rooftop pool in Mayfair, London.
The Brief
On arrival, we lifted the covers to the motor pit and found the cover completely jammed up in the pit. This was not one of our installations but we could immediately see what was needed.
Additionally, the water level was too low to operate the reel correctly.
What We Did
We began by manually removing the pool cover, section by section, until we could operate the motor within the pit and use this to correctly wind the cover back to the correct position. The cover was then no longer jammed in the pit.
All the time we were refilling to pool with fresh water to bring the water level up so that the cover could be operated properly.
How We Did It
The pool cover slats were gradually reinstated onto the pool and then we recalibrated the system to programme the correct open and closed positions.
The original installation had been carried out by someone else, but we are well versed in many other reel system controls. The client was delighted that we were able to offer a solution and get the pool usable again.
