Repair to Damaged Slatted Pool Cover & Reel Motor
A Shrewsbury holiday-let swimming pool was in desperate need of repair to get it usable again for guests.
The Brief
This large 7m x 12m pool, belonging to a holiday property in Shrewsbury is regularly used by guests but had fallen into disrepair.
The reel motor was no longer working, and several of the slats from the cover were badly damaged, making the cover unusable and therefore impacting on the health of the pool.
The client needed this pool back in tip top shape for potential holiday rentals.
What We Did
This above ground reel system, using a UNICUM intube motor and control, was installed by Pool Cover Systems 10 years ago.
The control panel was still operating correctly but the motor needed to be replaced. The system was dismantled to swap the old motor over with a new one, using existing wiring.
To repair the slatted pool cover, rather than replacing the whole cover, we were able to remove 1m of damaged slats and replace them with new ones.
The End Result
We then reassembled the entire system and returned the repaired cover onto the reel.
With the cover looking good as new and the system reprogrammed to the correct open and close positions, the pool was ready to be enjoyed by holidayers once again.
